Revealing Unforgettable Memories: Our Family’s Untold Story
The conversation you've all been waiting for is out now on YouTube.
As you know, my brother Dennis and I sat down for a podcast late last year – swapping stories and remembering memories of days gone by. What we ended up talking about wasn’t just the wild, stupid things we did as kids. It was the plague that’s haunted our family for generations: Dementia.
Unforgettable Memories: The Secret Comes Out
Our great-grandfather, grandfather, and father all had it. Three generations haunted, tormented by an incurable disease.
We’re not alone in this. There are 50 million families worldwide dealing with the same thing. Over 7 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s, and that number is expected to go up to 13 million by 2050.
Preserving Memories for Future Generations
As households like ours face this disease head-on, it’s important we hold on to the special, enduring things that really matter – the legacy and memories our loved ones left behind.
That’s why I started writing Barefoot and Bulletproof in the first place. To help build a movement, to create something that would last long after every part of me has faded away.
But more than anything else, I want our stories to survive way past our lifetimes. Not only for the next generations of Glovers, but also for the rest of the world. It’s important to keep memories alive. I can’t stress that enough.
Funny Childhood Stories Behind the Secret
But enough of the serious stuff. Dennis and I also spent a lot of time talking about fun stuff, the things you’ve probably never even heard of before. You guys already know this, but Dennis and I did a lot of stupid stuff when we were younger.
One of those times led to us having to drag a bike out of the pond. It came out looking like a slimy, mossy monster – thanks to one particularly poor decision.
Want to know how we managed that, and who was really to blame?
Check out the video so you can hear the full, unedited conversation.
